The next-gen port of The Witcher 3 was a bit of a chore on PC, and even the best Witcher 3 setup didn’t register all copies of the RPG on its platform. However, developer CD Projekt Red is gathering player feedback and a patch has now been released. While this doesn’t change the version of the game or include too many details, it does show how the team listens and acts.
“We have just released a hotfix for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC that should improve overall game performance and stability, as well as fix GOG and Steam overlays. The game version will not change,” says CD Projekt Red about the new update to the open-world game.
“At the same time, a next-gen update for the Origin version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released. The game version will be 4.0.
“Our teams are working to further improve the experience on all platforms.”
While this next-gen patch for The Witcher 3 is certainly a good thing, the CDPR doesn’t specify exactly how the game’s overall stability and performance has been improved, or what other minor parts of the game it applies to. .
However, the forum page for currently investigated issues states that the Origin update didn’t work before and how many times it crashed, so that doesn’t mean CD Projekt isn’t fixing issues reported by players, it just means you have to. download the game to see what has changed.
Ironically, CD Projekt Red isn’t the only person working on improvements for the update, as modder Hulk Hogan is working on his own update for The Witcher 3 next-gen, scheduled for Q2 2023.
