l‘Italian RocketChampionship through his social channels, he made a sad announcement to the public: from next IRC season Serie C and Serie D are closed. The organization has offered to follow various developments, given that with the disappearance of these two series, there could be transformations for Serie B, which should go to 10 teams with 3 slots available through qualifications.

We regret to announce that Series C and Series D will be closed as of next IRC season. We know how important they are to the community and they were born just for all those who wanted to participate! Right now, we must inevitably concentrate our forces in the two major leagues in order to take the championship to a new level. We thank all the teams that took part, we believe that this is not a farewell, but just a farewell! … There’s something new! Serie B transforms into 10 teams, 3 of which can be won through qualifiers!

Marco “Laru” LaRosa, the promoter of the PG Esports tournament and with the important support of sponsor Vigorsol, personally wanted to explain in detail the reasons that inevitably led to the elimination of Series C and D. He highlighted how hard work, commitment and passion was sometimes rewarded online with fruitless complaints. We report some excerpts from the long flash and also leave below the original tweet from which you can get to the whole text.

I’m writing this post because I want the community to understand the reason for this decision, but in order to better explain to you, I must first give a grand total of these years, … IRC … you know, this comes from my idea. out of a desire to do something for the Italian Rocket League community.
For the first two seasons, we had a single league consisting of 16 teams, but we immediately realized that the league is not competitive in this regard, there is too much difference between the first and last, so the decision in the third season to separate the teams and form 2 leagues out of 8, Serie A and series B.
Even if the total number of teams were the same, managing two leagues instead of one meant twice as much effort and time for us to be able to manage them in the best possible way. Despite the two leagues, there were a lot of applications for participation, so much so that already at the beginning of season 3, during series A and B, we had the idea to open a third league at the end of the season.
After general approval from the IRC staff and after the third season, we made a decision that would make us “loved” by the community, but would require huge sacrifices on our part.
The 4th season is starting and we are opening not just one more league, but even 2, Serie C and Serie D.
This decision really allowed many young players to test themselves, measure themselves and grow season after season with IRC, but, as I said, at the expense of our free time. Managing 4 leagues, 2 of which will air, for 7 seasons, and I repeat 7 seasons, not two, was really exhausting, both physically and mentally.
“.

“Behind the C and D leagues, although it may not seem like there are many people working there … The IRC currently has a staff of 16, including commentators, moderators, administrator, website, etc. … Over the past 2-3 seasons we didn’t have someone to run the lower leagues at the Start… for the last 2-3 seasons I had to run those leagues myself, in conjunction with the leadership of the Serie B Start and all the work that I was added with the growth of Serie A, I arrived very exhausted, I had no more psycho-physical energy to continue these leagues.
