Steam Horror Takes Resident Evil Back To Its Fixed-Camera Roots

What does a new Steam horror game that uses the fixed camera from Capcom’s original Resident Evil games look like? If that’s what you’re looking for, I’ve got news for you as an indie developer working to bring this game to life and you can add it to your Steam wishlist right now while you wait for the demo to come out soon.

The game, called Echoes of the Living, is clearly inspired by classic Resident Evil games that focus on survival horror and puzzle solving, right down to the use of beautiful environments, zombies, and stationary cameras. .

The project will be released in Q4 2023 on Steam, and “a demo will be available shortly.” The project is being developed by MoonGlint and KurauAmami and you can check out some amazing first videos in the new trailer below.

Echoes of the Living is set in a small town in Northern Europe in 1996. You play as Laura or Liam after a mysterious mist has engulfed the townspeople and wild animals, turning them into zombies and terrifying night creatures – hold on to the giant spiders (you have been warned).

There are fixed camera angles, puzzles, inventory management, save rooms and item chests, multiple stories for each character, and plenty of weapons to keep you safe.

You can check out the horror game Echoes of the Living on Steam right now, we’ll see the demo launch and let you know, MoonGlint told us it should be out in two to three weeks. Also, don’t forget to subscribe to MoonGlint at Twitter for project updates too.

We’ve also looked at the best VR horror games and the best survival games currently available on PC if any of these types of games interest you too. We also explain why you shouldn’t miss Signalis, which has some similar ideas.
