Watch Dogs Legion is coming to Steam in January

Now that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has arrived on Steam, the question is, which Ubisoft game will take the next leap? We didn’t have to wait long for an answer because here it is: Open-world hacker game Watch Dogs Legion is coming to Steam next month, hitting the Valve Store on January 26.

Watch Dogs Legion was originally released a month before Valhalla, but never achieved the same level of success, much like the strict post-launch content release schedule that Ubisoft adhered to throughout Valhalla’s entire lifecycle. That’s not to say Legion hasn’t received updates: an online mode was introduced earlier this year that added a new set of four-player co-op missions and tactical operations, and there’s also a Legion of the Dead zombie mode that turns this in a completely different game.

Watch Dogs Legion is quite a bold experiment for Ubisoft’s blockbuster series, as it doesn’t feature specific protagonist names. Instead, you are any random person in London who intends to recruit new agents for the DedSec case, and you can take the place of any of these recruits as soon as you see them.

With that being said, the latest update for Watch Dogs Legion was released in September 2021, so nothing new will appear after the release on Steam.

If you’ve recently installed one of the better graphics cards, Legion is a good workout: you can turn on all sorts of ray-traced lighting effects to see just how far you can push your GPU if you want.

Watch Dogs Legion doesn’t have a price yet on Steam, but Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has arrived at a monthly discount of 67%, or $19.80 / £16.50, so you’ll likely see a similar deal on Legion when it arrives.
