Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 is a powerful graphics card, but so far it is not popular among PC gamers. The lack of demand for the company’s second RTX 4000 processor is likely due to its cost, with many complaining about its MSRP. Now, reports indicate that the green team is preparing price cuts.
Rumors of proposed price cuts for the GeForce RTX 4080 come just before new competitors emerge in the race for the best graphics card. If Nvidia is struggling to switch GPUs right now, it could be in for a whole new world of pain with the introduction of the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT and its more powerful RX 7900 XTX counterpart.
However, when reporting a possible price drop for the GeForce RTX 4080, MyDrivers (via harukase5719) says that his source points out that this is not a response to the upcoming Red Team Pixel Pushers. Instead, this decision appears to have been made by Nvidia for “its own sales promotion considerations.”
We’ll find out soon if Nvidia plans to make the GeForce RTX 4080 cheaper, as current expectations are for mid-December. However, it is currently unclear how much, if at all, we can expect the price to drop.
