I always wanted to play Rainbow Six Siege on mission 2? Circuit breakers might be the next best option. This new 5v5 VR tactical shooter developed by Triangle Factory is inspired by Siege and Counter-Strike Global Offensive, combining gameplay elements from both. There is no release window for Breachers yet, but open alpha testing has just started.
The Breachers free alpha test is available exclusively on Meta’s best VR headset, Quest 2, along with Meta Quest Pro. Only one map is included in this alpha, though Triangle Factory confirms more maps will be available in the full version. Getting to alpha testing isn’t easy though, as you won’t find it in the standard Quest store or app lab. As confirmed by the Breachers Discord server, you will need SideQuest, an unofficial third-party platform.
The server has full instructions, but here’s what you need to do to access the Breachers alpha test:
- Download SideQuest on your computer and use the advanced installer
- Select developer mode in Quest from the settings menu
- Connect your search to PC
- Download the alpha version APK file via the Breacher Discord server and install it manually.
- Tap the “Unknown Sources” button in the General Settings menu and it will appear in the “Unknown Sources” tab under “Applications”.
If you’re frustrated that alpha testing isn’t available outside of Quest, don’t worry. Triangle Factory previously announced that Breachers would be released on “all major VR platforms (PC and offline VR)” at launch. So expect that on Steam, Vive, and Pico 4 at least.
Sadly, this doesn’t apply to the original Oculus Quest, and on the Discord servers FAQ, Triangle Factory confirms that’s because “we need the extra power of Quest 2 for this game.”
Prone to motion sickness in virtual reality? Why don’t you try the best FPS games on PC and shoot your enemies with your mouse?
