Batman VR Coming to Meta Quest 2 by Iron Man VR Studio Camouflaj

Batman VR is probably heading towards goal mission 2, according to the Federal Trade Commission. Following last month’s announcement that Meta has acquired Iron Man VR developer Camouflaj, which introduced a former PSVR exclusive for Oculus’ old standalone headsets, it seems the studio is turning its attention to DC’s Batman.

Potentially elevating Quest 2’s status as the best VR headset, Batman VR could be Meta’s next big VR exclusive. I observe janko rettgers (thanks UploadVR), an FTC court document has surfaced online outlining the story of Meta’s acquisitions of Beat Games three years ago from Camouflaj in September.

As seen on page 8, the document states: “In September 2022, Meta acquired Camouflaj, which [is] He is currently developing the Ironman and Batman VR apps for Quest.”

There is nothing more to learn from this, so we will have to wait for the official release of the details. We can safely assume that Batman VR is compatible with Meta Quest Pro and the upcoming Oculus Quest 3. Either way, this confirms that there will be even more superhero VR experiences with Iron Man VR Quest 2 released earlier this month.

Camouflaj’s next game won’t be Batman’s first VR adventure, either. Rocksteady Studios previously released Batman: Arkham VR for PSVR in 2016 before releasing it on PC. The game takes place between Arkham City and Arkham Knight. There are no battles here as Arkham VR is all about puzzle solving and detective gameplay. We still consider it one of the best Batman games on PC, but unfortunately it never made it to Quest.
