Activision has shared a number of new details about the upcoming season of Call of Duty, including plans to keep the current battle royale game titled Warzone: Caldera. Following the release of Warzone 2 on November 16, the developers plan to keep the new ecosystem running smoothly and then take a break for the US Thanksgiving holiday. Warzone: Caldera is where you’ll have access to everything you’ve earned in Warzone, and it’s the only place you can access Battle Pass content, weapons, and other purchases made in Modern Warfare (2019). You won’t be able to use any of the new Modern Warfare 2 content in Caldera, and you won’t be able to transfer XP tokens between games – Caldera is effectively isolated from Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2.
Activision also says that the new Warzone: Caldera won’t have Rebirth Island or Fortune’s Keep maps, at least at launch. For fans of smaller maps, the developer recommends keeping an eye out for upcoming plans for future seasons of Warzone 2.0.
