The maker of the popular Deckmate, a versatile Steam Deck accessory, said it has several other products “in the works.” What started as a rough idea quickly grew into a versatile third-party app that turned out to be a very useful addition to Valve’s gaming PC.
In the AMA Reddit thread, Sea_Minerals, aka Siri, diligently answered questions from other Steam Deck users about Deckmate. Asked by another user if there will be more accessories, Siri replied that they are currently developing some.
While Deckmate is already extremely useful, its creator wants to add catches to it for other devices like Switch or any other laptop. They also plan to make more mounts, especially 1/4-20 threaded mounts for tripods and cameras.
You can also have car and plane support, which will be very handy for Steam Deck users who travel a lot. As if that wasn’t enough, Siri is also developing a power adapter that will plug into your laptop’s chassis, allowing you to connect the stand to your Deckmate.
This all sounds pretty exciting, especially considering how popular the app is. If you are unfamiliar with this plugin and have a Steam platform, Deckmate is worth investing in. In fact, it is the Swiss army knife of accessories for the device. The official product is available for $49 and comes with a handle, a bracket, a wall mount, and two universal grommets for connecting external hard drives and batteries.
The fact that it also comes with an adapter so you can use it with the best Steam Deck base shows just how versatile the Deckmate is. And it looks like there will be even more accessories to consider.
