A new Skyrim mod adds dozens of nature-related magical spells and abilities to Bethesda’s RPG. While The Elder Scrolls V already contains plenty of exciting magic across the different schools of Restoration, Alteration, Sorcery, Destruction, and Illusion, the best Skyrim mods include plenty of ways to spice up a fantasy game with all sorts of new tricks.

Created by creator Norive, the Natura mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a set of nature-based spells that are balanced to match spells found in the vanilla game. Introduces a series of new magics that span all levels of the Restoration, Alteration, and Affliction trees. It also adds new spriggans as enemies and companions to the game, as well as a variety of spriggan skins, each providing unique abilities to strengthen your dragonborn.

The recovery tree is the simplest and includes several different levels of healing magic as you would expect, but also features bug-based poison attacks that can be deployed over a wide area with abilities like Bug Bomb, or apply everyone around the user. with abilities like Bug Cloak. You can also shield yourself with Oak Heart to reduce incoming damage or restore health when attacked with Earth Shield.

Disruption spells offer a variety of powerful buffs that can be applied to boost stats such as stamina regeneration or deflect damage from attackers by covering yourself with a crown of thorns. However, there are also 18 different skins to choose from. Only one of these can be active at a time, but they range from simple effects like increasing the elemental damage of your attacks and spells to more powerful abilities. Spirit of the Phoenix allows you to quickly heal and set all nearby enemies on fire when your health drops below 25%, while Spirit of the Basilisk gives you a chance to petrify any enemy in front of you for three seconds.

Finally, the School of Sorcery gives you the types of summoning you’d normally expect, but with a host of new options. Some of them, like Deer and Mud Crabs, aren’t particularly helpful. Noriv notes that they are “more RP specific, but will attack your enemies like any other summon.” However, at higher levels you have the ability to summon Corus Hunters and Saber Cats, as well as several new Spriggan variants.

The last (but not least) addition is the Spriggan skins, of which there are 24. Each of the six Spriggan variants has four possible drops: the skin on its base, non-enchanted form, and the rest provide the wearer with a range of powerful buffs. . Our favorites include the Chameleon Mask, which grants invisibility while standing still, and the Stag Mask, which increases your movement speed by 50% out of combat.

This all feels good to us and is perfect for a new take on one of the best open world PC games centered around those spells. If you ever feel like doing the same, you can download the Natura mod for Skyrim from Nexus Mods.

While you’re at it, why not check out some other great additions, like the Skyrim Roads mod that rebuilds every inch of the game’s roads, or the mod that adds Skyrim’s Mage City to explore with over 100 NPCs? If the pleasant side of the natural world doesn’t appeal to you, how about the blood magic of Skyrim as an alternative? Or, if you’d rather not be a hero for a change, why not check out a Skyrim mod that lets you replace dragon slaying with a more traditional 9:5? You can even go a step further and try other great games like Skyrim if that’s not enough to entice you.
