Paradox’s latest great strategy game, Victoria 3, is out now, and while it’s ambitious, detailed, and beautiful, it has a few issues. One is that the American Civil War, in which the southern slave states seceded to retain their rights to their own slaves, is fairly easy to avoid: you don’t have to fight at all. . Paradox says this issue is one of many they are working on in the upcoming Victoria 3 patch.
In a post on the Paradox forums titled “Known Bugs,” the Victoria 3 team lists 19 currently monitored issues and offers workarounds and/or promises to fix them.
“Civil war in the United States is easily preventable, and if it starts, slave states may appear in the Union and vice versa,” the list says. “While civil wars and state selection for revolutionary countries are dynamically determined based on political support and radicalism and may take different forms in different parties, this particular outcome is not anticipated and will be reviewed,” explains Paradox.
The developer says that in some user configurations, Paradox Launcher is unable to parse the configuration file, resulting in language and other settings that cannot be changed in the launcher. If this happens to your installation, Paradox recommends using the Windows Add/Remove Programs application to uninstall all instances of Paradox Launcher, and then restarting the game.
The issue mentioned in our Victoria 3 review is that the line on the budget balance graph that appears when you hover over the budget figure in the top menu bar is often drawn well beyond the edges of the graph, sometimes protruding. filter. Paradox says it’s looking into the issue as well, but in the meantime, the line will be fixed over the course of game days.
“In short, these known issues are under development and we are constantly investigating in our communities the issues they raise,” explains the developer. “We are doing everything possible to fix them as soon as possible so that you can enjoy the passage without any problem.”
