nvidia geforce now it was nothing short of a lifesaver when global chip shortages made upgrading your GPU a nightmare, bringing you the power of an RTX 2080 straight from the cloud. Plus, it connects to your existing Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, EA Origin, and Ubisoft Connect libraries so you don’t have to worry about games suddenly leaving the platform halfway through.
Normally a priority subscription will set you back $49.99 / £44.99 six months up front, which is a small saving compared to the ten a month plan, but Nvidia is feeling very generous at the moment. During the GeForce Now sale, you can get six months of cloud gaming for the price of three, dropping to $29.99 / £26.99 until November 20.
If you’re unsure of the value, you can try the free version, which limits you to entry-level hardware, one-hour sessions, and you may have to wait in line to use it. A priority subscription skips the line altogether with premium servers, six-hour sessions, and 1080p/60fps ray tracing. You can even learn how to set up Nvidia GeForce Now on the Steam Deck if you have a Valve gaming laptop.
There are some caveats regarding the discount, as the offer is only available to “new members, free members, one-month priority members, and users with an active promotion or gift card.” The cloud gaming service will also depend on your connection speed to ensure smooth streaming. Currently, more than 1,400 devices are supported by the service, the latest of which include Victoria 3 and V Rising. You can check the compatible games here.
How it fares against cloud rivals Logitech and Tencet remains to be seen, but GeForce Now has long been a leader in the game streaming wars, even before Google Stadia filled it. If you finally like the Priority subscription, consider upgrading to Nvidia GeForce Now RTX. 3080 with higher frame rates, higher resolutions, and longer sessions.
