It doesn’t seem like that long ago that Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord’s Early Access phase kicked off, catching many of us who had been waiting for a medieval arena game for years by surprise. That was over two years ago, though, and TaleWorlds’ ambitious sequel to Warband is set for its “official” release, perhaps thanks to the addition of royal banners you can carry into battle.

That’s right: Bannerlord now has banners. These are items that your character or AI heroes can equip and carry into battle and will provide various training benefits attached to whoever has them. Banner components, as well as the cloth banners themselves, can be crafted and customized, and if dropped, can be picked up by other troops to continue inspiring the rest of the formation.

TaleWorlds also says it’s continuing to improve its replay editor, which will likely be included in the editing tools the studio plans to release in the coming months.

The release plans announcement on the official TaleWorlds website has more information. Check out our Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord cheat guide for more information on how to enable console commands and how to use them.
