Warner Bros. Games officially announced today Mortal Kombat: Assault. for the GDR iOS and Android mobile devices Made for release by NetherRealm Studios 2023. The announcement came just in time to celebrate the series’ thirtieth anniversary, but fans were probably hoping for a new fighting game to emerge.
According to the official announcement, Mortal Kombat: Onslaught will be “the franchise’s first mobile exclusive cinematic experience.” In the game, we will need to “select from the series’ massive roster to assemble a team of fighters and then unleash them in massive team battles in real time to stop a dark and dangerous threat from ravaging the realms.”
Warner Bros. “Mortal Kombat is a legendary franchise and pop culture phenomenon, and it continues to engage gamers and advance the fighting game genre across multiple platforms,” said David Haddad, President of Games. “Mortal Kombat: Onslaught is a testament to why Mortal Kombat has been a flagship franchise for over 30 years as the NetherRealm team continues to innovate and design new games for fans.”
“We’re pushing the boundaries of Mortal Kombat to allow gamers to experience the franchise in new ways, but staying true to its basic instinctive nature,” said Ed Boon, NetherRealm Studios Chief Creative Officer. “With Mortal Kombat: Onslaught, we reinvented Mortal Kombat in a team-based strategic role-playing game with fast-paced hand-to-hand combat that can be enjoyed by both new and existing fans.”
Warner Bros. No further details about Mortal Kombat: Onslaught have been disclosed at this time, while Games invites all interested players to subscribe to the game’s official site to receive new information as soon as possible.
