Satoru Honma, country manager of CD Projekt RED and producer of the Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunnersthen he explained no plans about the possible Season 2despite the great acclaim of critics and audiences for anime.
In an interview with Famitsu, Honma explained that Edgerunners was designed as one. self contained storytherefore a second season is not in production yet.
But that doesn’t mean it will never be done, it just means that there are no concrete plans for it at the moment. “Personally, I’d like to continue working with Japanese studios to produce more anime in the future, in part because we’ve received so much positive feedback. “Even if we can do more anime in the future, I don’t know if it will be Season 2 or something completely different.”
