Sherry Danganronpa will ever have fourth chapter? Kazutaka Kodakaauthor.
Kodaka touched on the subject in an interview with the newspaper Twinfinite to talk about his new work, Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE, published by Spike Chunsoft.
Basically, Kodaka wanted to make a new intellectual property and the publisher didn’t specifically press him for a new Danganronpa. He did not want to do it himself, for fear that they would answer him.
That doesn’t rule out that he’ll be returning to the Danganronpa series in the future, the idea of which Kodaka doesn’t care about, but he has other priorities now:
“It’s not that I don’t want to do another Danganronpa, but I have a lot of ideas and want to do something new. I might come back one day, who knows.
Danganronpa is a niche game and I’m working on something bigger right now, but it would be nice to work on it again in the future.”
Regardless, Kodaka does not want to follow the safest path and focuses on already established intellectual property:
“I’m not interested in doing what other people are doing. I don’t want to take the safer route. When people start to forget about Danganronpa, maybe I’ll be more inclined to work on it again.”
