Ignore the first solution to the puzzle: how to open the door

if you’re stuck first puzzle in Scorn So we are here to help. This puzzle game is actually a microcosm of Ebb Software’s first-person survival horror game. The relatively simple concept of opening a huge door consists of many moving parts spread out over a large self-contained area, with plenty of scary moments and the potential to inflict a gruesome death on some strange alien creature that I really don’t deserve.

In short, Scorn’s first riddle really puts you on the spot, so we don’t blame you if you already feel completely lost. Your goal is to open the giant locked door in the main cave that leads to the rest of the alien structure. You have the ability to manipulate doors with an alien modification of your arm, but there are two consoles and you can only use one at a time. To move forward, you must hire an unwitting (and somewhat reluctant) volunteer. Here’s how to solve the first puzzle in Scorn.

Ignore the first puzzle solution.

The items in this puzzle are divided into four distinct areas: the main cave, the shovel, the saw, and the scraper. The first three are on the ground floor, while the bucket and saw are in two separate halls leading from the main cave.

The claw machine is located on the top floor, which can be accessed by taking the elevator up one of the two hallways. The claw puzzle is the first step to unlocking the door, so head up the stairs once you’re familiar with the environment and interact with the console on the center pedestal to get started.

EGG PUZZLE MACHINE

Basically, you’re trying to collect all the petrified eggs to the right of the scratcher’s grid, clearing the way for a living egg, whose core glows, to take the spot closest to the claw.

Putting them in the correct order requires trial and error, and it’s very easy to make this puzzle more difficult by simply moving the eggs around randomly. Prioritize moving individual eggs first to leave enough room to move eggs linked together. It’s important to use the entire grid when solving this puzzle; if there doesn’t seem to be enough room for them to move, there may be empty spaces further to the right that have gone unnoticed.

Once the correct egg is placed, activate the claw on the main console to grab the egg and place it on the center column, which will automatically lower. Use the elevator to go down and back to the main cave to find the egg and meat inside hanging above the cart on the tracks. Use the console right in front to lower them onto the seat.

First Contempt Puzzle – The train tracks, seen from above when interacting with a console on a raised platform in the main cavern, which must be manipulated to solve the first puzzle, with the path branches selected.

Now that you have a meat volunteer, you need to get it out of an egg. Here you have to choose: a saw or a shovel. You can access any of them by manipulating the path with the console on the raised platform in the center of the main cave. Once the track is in place, all that’s left is to push the cart to its final destination.

If you’re unsure which to choose or curious about another outcome, our guide to choosing between a saw and a shovel in Scorn will go into all the gory details. Either way, the result of your decision gives you what you need to access the locked door to the main cavern: an extra hand.
