W7M Esports, the traditional esports organization in the country, and Banco do Brasil, a banking institution that has supported and promoted esports since 2018 and is the official sponsor of the Bulls, have announced another innovation to encourage the female script. Starting this month, all W7M Esports female roster salaries will be increased by an average of 300%, which is in line with the average salary received by male players in each modality.

According to Tadeu Figueiro, director of marketing at BB, from the very beginning of the partnership with W7M, both parties were looking for ways to really change the script: “Since we closed our sponsorship with W7M Esports, we have understood the mission as our goal: to further develop the female scene and promote truly relevant action.”

Each team in the organization will be promoted according to the modality introduced and may have different values depending on the game. The salary base used to determine each team’s costs was based on a survey conducted by the banking institution and W7M on what is paid by Tier 1 entities in the national scenario.

Felipe Funari, Founder and COO of W7M Esports, reaffirmed the importance of pay equity and commented on the organisation’s recent accomplishments: “Fortunately, after the rebranding, we were able to create a strong competitive leadership in the organization among all the modalities in which we operate. We have won several titles for both women and men. And with so many lineups and capable athletes, we thought what to do to show that in W7M it doesn’t matter what gender you are, it’s important to put on a shirt and give your life in every fight, and that’s what everyone does. This is another step towards ensuring fairness in the script and the increasing value of women who are passionate about esports.”
