This Beaver-based gaming PC is still haunting after all these years

Years ago, someone shoved a gaming computer into a beaver’s empty stomach. A decade and a half later, it’s understandably still haunting people in their sleep. If you weren’t expecting a taxidermy system that mixes computer hardware and a dead animal on your timeline, click here. But if we have to suffer, so do you.

Such creepiness has prompted Reddit user AlecksIsBad to feel the need to revive this beaver-based gaming PC, so to speak. They are not responsible for the creation of this monster. No, they just show images like they did on the internet about 15 years ago, so some of you are probably already familiar with that. However, it is such an obsessive concept that it is worth reviewing.

Of course, it’s worth noting that the very limited space inside the beast, combined with the age of the build, means it’s not exactly the best gaming PC by today’s standards. It originally had an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and only 1 GB of RAM. Can you imagine trying to stuff an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 or an AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT into this thing? Worse yet, imagine owning an RTX 4090. It’s “hell!” there’s a joke somewhere, I’m sure.

Needless to say, the age of the build means the images aren’t HD, but here you can see how Compubeaver is built step by step. Trigger Warning: The reddish tint in some images may not be for the faint of heart, but rest assured this is just a line.

Despite its age and the fact that it could fuel your nightmares, it’s still a pretty impressive project. Learning to build a gaming PC is a skill in itself. It’s just that most people prefer something more branded, like a Fallout or God of War build. However, the PC beaver is sure to please someone. The original creator, for example.

The fact that it arrived a decade and a half later at least shows how unique a gaming PC can be. Unlikely to encourage any of you to get into taxidermy-based computers, but it could be a way to honor a sadly deceased pet that includes gaming.
