Intel Raptor Lake processor leaks point to a possible price increase, as online listings suggest a higher MSRP than Alder Lake. As a result, you may need to pay a lot more for a 13th-gen flagship chip, and budget options may be a notch higher, too.
Discovered by videocardz, Intel Raptor Lake CPU pricing information is currently available on Newegg. According to the vendor, the Core i9-13900K will apparently be available for $660, while the budget Core i5-13600KF is priced at $309.99. This means we can expect higher prices at Alder Lake, with margins ranging from $40 to $70 in the future.
As with all leaks, this Raptor Lake price leak is best taken with a grain of salt. Intel’s innovation event is only a few hours away, so company information may not match Newegg’s.
The best gaming processor options already cost a lot of money, so higher 13th Gen prices may push enthusiasts toward AMD alternatives. That doesn’t mean the red team’s offering is any cheaper, as the world record Ryzen 9 7950X will cost $699. However, if Raptor Lake proves less powerful, its higher price could hurt its chances against Ryzen 7000 rivals once they hit the battlefield.
