Modifying your own gaming PC is an opportunity to get creative, and fans of the post-apocalyptic franchise are sure to love this Fallout 4 Pip-Boy case. Anyone who knows how to build a gaming PC knows that there are countless ways to do it, and taking limited-edition video game hardware and sticking PC hardware on it is a great way to use up old plastic.

Reddit user OceanSlim has created this fantastic kit by turning a Fallout 4 Pip-Boy Special Edition capsule into a fully functional personal PC. It’s not the best gaming PC with an Intel i5-3470, Nvidia Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti, and 16GB DDR3 RAM on an Asus B75M-Plus motherboard, but it’s a unique way they’ve managed to capitalize on the plastic space of this part of the game. Fallout Kit, making it a special build.

However, concerns have been raised in a Reddit thread that this custom gaming PC lacks airflow. OceanSlim says the case lid stays open when powered on, allowing the system to run at 85 degrees Celsius even while “playing high-end games.” Either way (ha! Pun!), regardless of the specs, it’s a great homage to the 2015 Fallout game and the series in general, and gives that empty shell a new purpose.

There are plenty of examples of people building some pretty unique custom gaming PCs. One fan of God of War on PC turned his system into something worthy of Kratos’ wrath, while another celebrated the 50th anniversary of the popular American show MASH with customizable assets dedicated to the classic comedy-drama.

What OceanSlim proves is that building your own gaming PC isn’t just about having top-tier specs. It’s a curious example of how the outdoors can be just as much a topic of conversation as indoors.
