Stellaris Toxoids Pack introduces Poison Order of Knights

The next set of Stellaris species is dedicated to your poisonous side. Launching on September 20 for the premier sci-fi strategy game, The Toxoids Pack introduces two new sources that involve becoming addicted to poison and spreading that love throughout the galaxy.

The first new origin is called Overtuned and it focuses on rapid, I might say reckless, genetic evolution. There are 13 new “reset” traits available in this origin, each reflecting a different existing trait in the game. Restriction on how you can combine them. The downside here is that each one reduces the life expectancy of their leader.

Reconfigured civilizations can use the new “To hell with the consequences” edict, which doubles the effect of reconfigured traits and doubles the upkeep cost of all reconfigured colonies.

The other origin included in the pack is the Knights of the Poison God, a more story-focused origin that puts you in charge of an order of poison knights. In this origin, your planet has been visited by a certain force known as the God of Poison, and the Knights once again set out to find it.

You’ll start with five unique blockers on your planet – they’ll take up spaces that are otherwise accessible to buildings and make things difficult for you at first. However, as you progress through the mission, you will have the ability to turn these blockers into powerful assets. Knights themselves generate additional research and have other bonuses, so there are several perks available to you in this line.

The pack includes new traits and citizenship, including one called Ruthless Industrialists, which allows you to build huge “Coordinated Distribution Centers” that increase your production of alloys and consumer goods. However, this comes at a fairly high price for turning planets into tomb worlds.

There’s also a new set of portraits, new ships, new cityscapes, and a new Toxic Advisor voice to remind you how good it feels to spread your toxic fumes across the galaxy.
