Nvidia RTX Microsoft Surface gaming laptop could be coming

Microsoft reportedly has a Surface gaming laptop in the oven, and leaked specs indicate that it will feature an Nvidia GeForce RTX GPU. A high-end Windows 11 PC could potentially join other devices like the Surface Book 3 and Surface Pro X hybrid tablet, but we suspect it will be bulkier than its portable counterparts.

As Mylaptopguide pointed out, the Microsoft Surface gaming laptop is currently on a site called “Prime Gaming” (via Wccftech). The leak, presented as a product description, lists several spec options, including models equipped with an RTX 3050 Ti or RTX 3070 Ti, and Intel Core i5 and i7 Alder Lake processors.

The Surface Gaming Laptop has a removable SSD with preloaded capacities ranging from 256GB to 2TB. This particular quirk sets it apart from traditional Surface devices, as the inclusion of extra features like a gyroscope suggests it will retain the 2-in-1 laptop brand DNA.

On paper, the portable powerhouse almost looks like a Surface Book with an integrated Nvidia GPU. However, its display specs can help it compete with the best gaming laptops on the market, with a 1440p 165Hz screen squarely suited for competitive gaming.

Before getting excited about the Nvidia RTX Surface laptop, it’s worth pointing out the sketchy nature of this leak. The site that hosts the device spec does not include any information about the source and appears to only exist to host the leaked image.

That said, if the Surface gaming laptop is real, there’s a chance it could show up at Microsoft’s next hardware event in the fall.
