Triangle Strategy Steam release date is officially announced. Created by the same team behind the Bravely and Octopath Traveler series, Square Enix’s tactical RPG Available for PC on October 13and pre-orders are now open on Steam.
Triangle Strategy, first revealed in February 2021 via Nintendo Direct, has been exclusive to Nintendo Switch since its release in March this year. The edition sold on Steam is a “digital deluxe” version that includes an abridged mini digital artbook of Triangle Strategy Design Works The Art of Triangle 2018-2022.
In Triangle Strategy, your character’s decisions affect three sets of values: utility, morality, and freedom. Depending on which of these values you prefer, different scenarios and potential allies will become available as you progress through the game.
However, you cannot simply impose your will on the rest of the group. Instead, you’ll have to vote on important decisions, so it’s essential to take the time to convince your group members to agree with your way of thinking before making hasty decisions.
As in tactical RPGs of the past, battles take place on terrain that takes advantage of height difference and character interaction. You can flank enemy units and perform devastating follow-up attacks if you position your characters wisely.
Given the strength of the team’s previous games, and the appeal of a return to shiny pixel style, we’ll be happy to get our hands on this PC port when it arrives in October.
