The Cities: Skylines mod has added a giant new map based on the Grand Canyon which is now available on Steam, just in time for the release of the city builder’s new Plazas and Promenades DLC.
Cities: Skylines mods have given the management sim a major overhaul, adding new features, mechanics, and environments to Paradox Interactive’s city-building game. The challenge is to create a bustling, bustling urban metropolis, usually right in the middle of a giant green landscape. However, this new mod adds an extra layer of complexity, as you have to design and manage your city despite a huge, or rather grandiose, canyon running through its center.
Created by Teddy Ranko, content creator for Cities: Skylines, the map officially titled “Great Divide” is described as “a 1:1 elevation map of the Colorado River area of Arizona, north and upstream of Great Divide National Park. Canyon. and east of the Kaibab Plateau. The title should be a meaningful and poetic metaphor for how our current world is polarized and increasingly divided,” Ranko says, though they suggest players “feel free to rename it Big Ass or Poop.” discretion.”
You can download Great Divide via the Cities: Skyline Steam Workshop and the Mass Transit DLC is required to play. It comes just before the next official Towns, Squares and Promenades expansion, which adds a range of pedestrian areas and new legislative options to the in-depth city builder.
