A critical bug in the World of Warcraft auction house is preventing players from buying or selling items in Blizzard’s MMORPG. The game crash issue caused problems for many players who reported losing hundreds of thousands of gold in-game when the auction house automatically bought multiple items, or didn’t buy any at all, as the auction house said they were available for thousands. of sales.

World of Warcraft Community Manager Kayvax responded to numerous forum posts asking for help and acknowledging the problem. “We are aware of a bug that blocks some items in invalid lists,” says Kayvaks. We should fix this issue first, but we expect the fix to take another 2-3 days. We will notify you as soon as the fix is implemented.”

Responses to the thread were a mix of relief that the issue was publicly acknowledged and despair that nothing was said about it for nearly four days, with the first issues emerging earlier in the week. Some fans are also asking if Blizzard will do anything to repair the damage done to the game’s economy and development systems over the past week.

“It will take weeks for the economy to recover,” states a poster on the forum, noting that “tons of people have been scammed out of a ton of gold and conversely, many other people have won a ton of gold unearned. Additionally, some players note that they were unable to progress certain activities in the game due to not being able to purchase items required for more difficult content, such as consumables or items required for legendary crafting.

Some players ask to temporarily close the auction house until the problem is fixed. “I think buyers would rather use the merchant’s chat to find consumables than buy a single message and end up spending thousands of gold,” says one player.

Patch 9.2.7 for World of Warcraft introduced the auction house in the WoW Companion app for the first time, allowing players to buy and sell items on their mobile devices. Some players have speculated that this implementation may have caused bugs, but without official confirmation from Blizzard, we can’t say exactly why. In any case, if you have recently thought about participating in any type of bidding in Azeroth, we strongly recommend that you wait for a solution to arrive.
