Ubisoft has announced that Rainbow Six Siege Operation Brutal Swarm, also known as Year 7 Season 3, will premiere at the start of the Six Berlin Major on August 21. The company has yet to officially release much information about the upcoming multiplayer season, but the latest teaser suggests that it will feature plenty of tiny drones.
The announcement will take place on the official Rainbow Six Twitch channel at 7:30am PST / 10:30am EST / 3:30pm PT / 4:30pm CET, when we will officially see the new operator Y7S3 for the first time.
Data miners, as is often the case, were already busy swapping images and videos that were supposed to show new content on ferocious swarm. Some of them show a weapon that releases a swarm of small drones that then follow the operators as they get closer. They then report the operator’s approximate position and distance relative to its owner every few seconds.
All of this, of course, is subject to change and a high degree of skepticism. We’ll definitely have a clearer idea of what to expect when it officially launches on August 21. Ubisoft usually opens the Rainbow Six Siege test server the day after the tournament, so you’ll likely be able to jump in to activate the action on August 22.
