Blizzard has finally given us the release date for Diablo 3 Season 27 in a lengthy new blog post outlining everything to expect in the upcoming RPG content update. Diablo 3 Season 27 kicks off on August 26 at 5:00pm PT and August 27 at 1:00am BST. Call of the Light is a new seasonal theme. It focuses on the Angelic Trials that Nephalem can overcome, which in effect means you can earn Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable that allows you to imbue legendary weapons with a new class-specific random power. Whatever new ability you get, expect it to “be based on each class’s experience,” says Blizzard’s season summary.
Season 27 cosmetics include the Conqueror’s Chest and Gloves and Eternal Struggle-themed portrait frames. Belphegor is also available as a seasonal pet, and when it comes to rewards at the end of the journey, you can look forward to the Corvus Cadaverous pet and the Laurels of Knowledge portrait.
If you still need an extra chest tab to reach Conqueror level, Blizzard has plenty of tasks for you to complete. These range from achieving two conquests to leveling up legendary gems and defeating certain bosses on the Torment XIII difficulty.
Season 27 challenges bring back Speed Racer and Avarice. In Speed Racer, you need to complete the entire campaign of Diablo 3 at level 70 in under an hour, while the goal in Avarice is to complete a 50 million gold streak without challenging the Vault.
