This gaming PC mod looks like a Star Wars repair droid suit for your graphics card, but it’s actually a clever fan funnel that helps keep temperatures down. Designed to bridge the gap between the GPU and 140mm PC case fans, the special add-on lowers temperatures by six degrees Celsius, according to its creator.

Over on Reddit, LucasIsDead shows off a 3D printed gaming PC case mod in all its glory. We can’t decide if it looks like a droid from Star Wars or a weird GPU hot shoe, but aesthetics aside, it can help your rig boost frame rates and keep you cool when the game heats up.

Using a 3D printed funnel when launching Forza Horizon 5 reduces temperatures from 65°C to 59°C as it helps cool air get to enthusiasts’ Asus RTX 3060 graphics card, according to mod creator . It is worth noting that the GPU funnel is designed with the Fractal torrent PC case in mind, as its design places the power supply at the top to make room for the bottom intake fans.

The mod has already gotten a lot of attention on Reddit, and we’re not the only ones who think it looks like a repair droid from Star Wars. Giving it a custom sci-fi color would add a great sci-fi touch, but you can also mount it with an internal performance monitor like the one included in this Star Trek-inspired Tricorder gaming PC.

Printables for the LusasIsDead graphics card funnel are available for free download at Printables. This is definitely one of the best PC gaming mods in terms of practicality so check it out if you want to try this airflow mod.
