Robloxians will soon be able to gift Robux instantly

As Roblox continues to ramp up its marketing efforts with the help of companies like Gucci, Tommy Hilfiger, and Vans, the sandbox game’s developers seem to be looking for ways to make it easier for Robloxians to access Robux for their avatar.

Robux is the virtual currency of Roblox. Robloxians spend Robux on avatar gear and in-game perks like passes that allow them to level up quickly. As a result, Roblox game developers also get paid in Robux, which they must convert to a regional currency if they want to spend it outside of the platform.

Players currently have several options to send Robux directly to each other. One method involves groups and is essentially a workaround. With this method, players must create a party and dummy items that others must purchase essentially to send funds that the party can distribute. Players can also sell their own passes for “donations”. There is also a Roblox game called Plz Donate, which also allows players to wear avatar outfits and sell donation passes, but charges up to 40% fees. In each of these cases, these money transfers can take up to a week to process. Players can also purchase Roblox gift cards, but the process currently disconnects players from the central platform to complete the transaction.

So it was a nice surprise when Roblox Trackers discovered the new Roblox Economy API endpoint, which seems to imply that a direct donation is taking place.

Labeled “Economic API v2: Currency and Transaction Endpoints,” it illustrates a tool that will allow users to send Robux directly to each other.

“Based on the description, you will be able to send any user a certain amount of Robux from your balance,” the post says. This is reported by the Bloxy News Twitter account. August 10.

The process of initiating a transfer seems simple. The player who offers Robux will only have to enter the ID of the player to whom he wishes to send funds, as well as the amount that he intends to send.

If true, it could have major implications for Roblox’s virtual economy, as it will be easier than ever to gift Robux to your friends, developers, and favorite content creators.

It seems that this feature has been around for a long time. Focusing on an older audience that typically has more disposable income than younger gamers who have historically used the platform, it seems logical that the company would take advice from companies like Venmo that make it easy to transfer money to others. Of course, there are likely to be additional technical, financial, and legal hurdles when dealing with in-game currency, which could explain the company’s delay with such a feature.

Robloxians are generally very happy about the possibility of such an update. However, some believe that hackers can easily use your accounts to move money around the Roblox ecosystem. Presumably, if this feature appears, measures will be taken to protect users.

It is also unclear if Roblox will charge for these transfers if this feature is implemented.

According to a SharkBlox video on YouTube on August 10, this feature is not currently active. It’s unclear when, if ever, this feature will be activated.

However, the excitement of the players shows interest in such a feature and they hope that the developers of the platform will listen.
