A video by MxBenchmarkPC compared the PC version. Hand Ring before and after installing Patch 1.06 showing that the update has slightly improved yield of the FromSoftware header.
The comparison was made using a configuration with an Intel i7-10700F CPU and an 8GB RTX 3050, with the resolution set to 1080p and the settings at maximum.
The patch 1.06 notes talked about general “performance improvements” and we can actually see a small performance boost in the video. Let me be frank, nothing shocking, but it’s definitely positive that FromSoftware is still working on optimizing Elden Ring even though it’s been several months since its launch.
Elden Ring’s PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | It’s currently unclear if its performance on the S and Xbox One has also improved since the release of the latest update. We’ll have to wait for further analysis to know for sure.
Elden Ring’s Patch 1.06 made a few changes to multiplayer and PvP in particular, introduced an alternative way to progress in the quest for Varre, and fixed a number of issues. Among other things, a glitch that triggered some kind of hard mode has also been eliminated.
