The Power Stance was first introduced to the Souls series in Dark Souls 2, and while this game is the most notorious in the series, the FromSoftware mechanic’s latest creation has had enough likes to return from Elden Ring. . Here’s what you need to know to upgrade your weapon of choice.
Power Stance is a cute name for FromSoftware for wielding two guns of the same type – one in each hand. You can see the weapon type under the name on the device screen. You must be able to power up two weapons before the weapon types match. (There is an exception with the Wakiza – it empowers the katana more than any other dagger.)
When you have the same type of weapon in both hands, you will be able to access the power stance move using the button you normally use to lock. In controllers, this means left bumper. This moveset deals unique damage because it allows you to shoot enemies with both weapons at the same time. You will still have access to your basic attacks with the right trigger and your Ashes of War with the left trigger.
It has a few drawbacks. The most obvious is that the Power Base makes blocking impossible. Using two weapons at the same time can also be quite difficult, especially if you’re stuck with a large sword. With a small investment in Stamina, you shouldn’t run into too many problems.
