AMD graphics card prices are now at a new low as the price update suggests you can get the Radeon RX 6000 for 14% less than the suggested retail price. Nvidia RTX 3000 cards are also available at 9% off MSRP, meaning it’s cheaper than ever to upgrade your gaming PC to a current-gen GPU.
According to market analysts at 3DCenter, AMD Radeon and Nvidia GeForce graphics cards like the RX 6950XT and RTX 3090 Ti are available for much less than MSRP. You can pick up the old card in Germany for under $1,000 and the flagship RTX 3000 for just under $1,400.
You can get multiple AMD RX 6000 GPUs for less, but entry-level and mid-range Nvidia SKUs aren’t that cheap. Options like the RTX 3060 continue to have inflated price tags, which could indicate a higher demand for budget builds compared to beefy premium rigs.
Naturally, with current-gen prices at an all-time low, it’s not the best time to invest in a new GPU. AMD RDNA 3 is fast approaching and we may see RTX 4000 cards in a month.
That said, the fact that GPU prices are finally dropping below MSRP is a good sign, especially since it’s taken a long time for them to drop below MSRP. It’s also possible that the planned release of Nvidia’s RTX 4000 could be delayed due to an oversupply of RTX 3000 cards. In other words, current-gen options could still be the de facto choice for PC gamers, especially if they are cheap and readily available.
