If you want the closest possible experience to playing the original desktop version of Warhammer 40K on PC right now, your best bet is to play Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector. It’s a turn-based strategy game on PC that’s relatively faithful to the Hobby Shop version, and now there’s a major Battlesector update that adds our favorite guys in red, the Daemons of Khorne. The best part is that it is free.

The Daemon Update for Battlesector includes a new minor faction, Daemons of Khorne for Planetary Dominance. The demons at his disposal are Bloodmaster, Bloodletters, Flesh Hounds, and Skull Cannon, all designed to siphon as much blood and skulls as possible for good old Khorne and his throne.

The update also adds a new skirmish type, multiplayer, and base combat objective for planetary supremacy. This is called a siege and requires the attacking player to capture four strategic points on the map while the defender tries to destroy his army.

Speaking of maps, the new update includes three new ones: the Blood Angels-themed Fortress of Redemption, the Tyranid-themed Kennels, and the Necron-themed map called Blackstone. All of them will be used in basic attack battles during planetary domination, as well as skirmish and multiplayer matches.
