League of Legends Monster Tamer skins don’t live up to expectations

The latest set of cosmetic items to add to League of Legends’ ever-expanding virtual wardrobe are the Monster Tamer skins for Lulu, Kog’Maw, and Veigar. Instead, however, fans were expecting skinned versions of Janna and Ezreal, as Riot previously suggested.

If there’s one thing that should make League of Legends fans happy, it’s the prospect of new skins. With the LoL Star Guardian event adding a host of colorful new cosmetics to the game, the next line of skins will be Monster Tamer.

Transforming Kog’Maw, Lulu, and Veigar into charming yet deadly hunters seeking to tame the horrors that roam Runeterra, the skins are a far cry from the pastel colors of the Starguards.

Unfortunately for League of Legends Monster Tamers, the skins have left fans out in the cold, with many expressing disappointment that the previously planned Ezreal and Jeanne skins are not yet on the current roster.

Summary of responses to Riot’s statement cheep the demonstration of the skins and their screen savers is quite painful.

“It’s like you haven’t even tried it on him,” read one caustically. testgoing on to state that “Monster Tamer Lulu could be MUCH better and could be a Legendary.”

“So they remade Furyhorn Cosplay Veigar and Space Groove Lulu (even Bee’Maw) and called it a patch? Without Ezreal, without Jeanne? writing other.

The second half of this tweet is where the controversy lies. In January 2021, players were asked to vote on themed skin lines. These included Crime City Nightmare, Debonair, and Monster Tamer, whose concept art featured Akali and Twisted Fate, Leona and Malzahar, and Ezreal and Jeanne, respectively.

Of the three skin lines, Crime City Nightmare and Debonair suggested champions, but Monster Tamer does not include Ezreal or Jeanne.

“Guys, have you canceled Ezreal and Jeanne?” request a player. Why did Akali and Leona get their skins in last year’s poll, but Janna and Ezreal didn’t? I REALLY wish she would become the legend of him.

“So you give Akali, Twisted Fate, Leona, and Malzahar masks, but not Jeanne and Ezreal?!” read the end answeraccompanied by a GIF image of a crying woman.

While the Ezreal and Jeanne skins may release later (although Riot is still tight-lipped on that), the Monster Tamer skins haven’t debuted yet, as the developers likely hoped. For those who want the promised skins, take a breath of opium and cross your fingers: the Rift is unpredictable, so who knows what’s next.
