LEGO Super Mario: Adventure with Peach set challenge

Lego is one of my passions, and I’ve been taking my daughter to it since she was a little girl, with whom I had the opportunity to review the Peach Adventure set in detail. This gives you a chance to finally escape from Mario and Luigi, who have been racing through the perilous levels so far. Find out what Storytelling with Peach has to offer and how it works in combination with other starter packs in the following paragraphs.

Construction phase

After opening the box, seven bags full of cubes jumped out at us. Traditional format. The development of instructions was an innovation. While with most kits you can find a really well-filled multi-page booklet or even a booklet with some description, here there is only a few pages of a booklet with a QR code. At first I took it as a betrayal, but after launching the application, I realized that it could be better than the traditional one.

At least for my five year old. Although initially I wanted to help her as much as possible in building her little kingdom, she soon took the initiative and eventually became a completely independent builder. The cube stuck to the building cube, and the individual levels gradually took on a clear shape. Of course, the constructor itself is not the most demanding, but every built tower, platform or interactive swing, on which a die-hard adventure graduate can spin for as long as he likes, can please little builders. And that my little princess was spinning in my arms.

Game phase

After two pleasant evenings, the baby finally collected all the parts of the caterpillars, and we could go on an adventure together. Because if you have one of the other LEGO Super Mario: Adventure starter sets, that automatically means that the multiplayer option is unlocked. I know it may sound a little comical, but with numbers you can actively compete to see who gets the most money in the final. I honestly could imagine that Mario or even Peach could be a few inches smaller. I find the characters rather clumsy. However, I understand that young children are treated better than the classic version available in regular LEGO sets. In addition, each figure has battery-draining electronics in its guts that bring it to life, which is a plus for some and a daunting one for others.

The goal of all LEGO Super Mario: Peach Adventure games and other starter sets is to build a level and then complete it as efficiently as possible. The very idea of separate parts of the set allows you to really creatively work with the level system. The only thing you can’t bother with much is the sunroof. Without it, you simply will not start the motorcycle. The appearance of the entire level really depends only on you. It could easily be a space that you go through a few jumps. However, if you don’t want anything, that doesn’t stop you from building a more difficult path that you may not be able to complete in the allotted time if you’re a little unlucky. For example, a revolving footbridge that Mario, Luigi and Peach can easily slide off into the water can throw pitchforks into a flawless passage.

As for the set itself, LEGO Super Mario: Adventures with Peach doesn’t fall far behind other starter sets. However, the princess theme is evident on it. You won’t find the complicated carousel from LEGO Super Mario: Adventure with Luigi here, nor the bridge over the water that LEGO Super Mario: Adventure with Mario offers. Instead, there are simple swings that you can pair with the rest of the level as you see fit. It probably won’t be too surprising if I say that at least this set is mainly geared towards little girls.

The main thing is the point of view of the child

I must say that at first I had a negative impression of LEGO Super Mario: Adventures with Peach. I got used to different sets and, first of all, looked at all this through the eyes of an adult. However, my daughter was and still is delighted with the set. Even if it isn’t, the set basically offers countless options on how to put it together. The moment you add to it, for example, LEGO Super Mario: Adventures with Mario or LEGO Super Mario: Adventures with Luigi, the range of possibilities quickly expands, and with it the possibility of replay. Sure, it’s a different experience than the other LEGO options, but I’m not afraid to recommend it, at least for my little one.

You can order the LEGO Super Mario: Adventures with Peach set on the official LEGO website or in one of the many Czech stores.
