Square Enix has announced Valkyrie Elysium, the next game in the Valkyrie series, which will be released in 2022.
Revealed as part of Sony’s latest game situation, Valkyrie Elysium is the latest record in the Valkyrie series. This new game will be an action-RPG inspired by Norse mythology.
Square Enix said, “The Valkyrie series depicts the end of mankind and their encounter with the gods in a unique world inspired by Norse mythology. It all started in 1999 with Valkyrie Profile for the original PlayStation (released in 2000). For North America), more recordings will appear on handheld and mobile platforms as well as PlayStation 2.”
“The original titles have been praised by fans and critics alike for their innovative RPG gameplay, rich world and stories, and incredible soundtrack by legendary Motoi Sakuraba.”
This new game offers players an original story that follows the main character of Valkyrie, who has been entrusted with the fate of this world by a versatile father. Players will use their arsenal or weapons and abilities to engage in fast-paced, real-time combat.
“As in previous games, you can hire the Einherger – warriors who join the hero and fight alongside him when summoned.”
Original series composer Motoi Sakuraba is also back to add new music to the game’s soundtrack.
Fans and would-be fans will be happy to hear that the game is set to release later this year, but a firm date has yet to be set. Valkyrie Elysium will be exclusive to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Steam.
