Inscryption is a 2021 deck game by Daniel Mullins and published by Devolver Digital. In recent months, it has gained a large following, with many gamers downloading the game from Steam. According to Devolver, Inscryption will also be coming to PlayStation in August.

Many fans of the game have asked if the game will evolve into a physical card game that can be played behind the screen. Here’s what we know about the upcoming Inscryption physical card game.

The developers have yet to reveal a physical version of the Inscryption online card game. However, some creative fans create their own physical versions of the game’s cards. With the grace of game creator Daniel Mullins, Kevin McKeown and his brother staged live crypto games in Love Burn using simulated digital cards and various props .

In an interview with The Verge, McCaven revealed that McCaven extracted the files directly from the Inscryption game to recreate the Inscryption cards. His brother made masks to mimic the ones Lesh wore in the game, but it didn’t work.

After much trial and error, the real-life version of McKaven’s Inscryption became popular, with minor gameplay reworked to make the game work better in the real world. For example, one change was to replace a mechanic in a video game where you sacrifice a card to get its appearance (sigil) and use it on another card. While this takes place at the altar in the video game, for the physical game, McCaven and his brother physically shred the cards they sacrificed to players in a paper shredder.

Changes like this have made the real-world game rival the digital version that inspired it. While Daniel Mullins and Devolver haven’t announced an official physical release of Inscryption, Mullins’ confirmation of the actual builds and card designs has raised hopes of a physical release somewhere down the line.
