Hunt: Showdown Serpent Moon Event Adds a Spooky New Hour to the Day

The Serpent Moon event in Hunt: Showdown is coming up, and it will live up to its name: the spooky limited-time co-op event will debut at a new time of day in Haunted Bay. During the Serpent Moon, the normally dark night is illuminated by a pale green full moon that casts an ominous shadow across the landscape.

It’s somewhere between dusk and Hunt: Showdown’s night mode, maybe closer to night. However, visibility is slightly higher than at night, making long-range weapons more viable during the event.

Speaking of which, it is unknown if this new time of day will be permanently added to Hunt: Showdown, or if it will only be available for the Serpent Moon event. In the trailer below, it’s “event time,” suggesting that it will only exist while the Serpent Moon event is active.

Fortunately, it will be long enough: Serpent Moon will be available from July 27 to September 26, providing two full months of sick green moon action. During this time, you will be able to get many new rewards, including gear skins like the Snake Oil Ward antidote skin and the Snakeshot skin for the new Sparks pistol.

The event itself consists of collecting and slaughtering snakes found in snake baskets: you can either destroy them or risk being bitten by trapping the poisonous snakes from within. Once collected, the snakes can be sacrificed at special altars located throughout the map to earn event points.
