Maxis, next free update from Sims 4 will be addedsexual orientation of Sims to make the game even more inclusive. How will it work? Sims are currently attracted to people the player flirts with, regardless of their gender. In general, the system works, but does not cover all possible situations.
But with the next update, sexual orientation is a ‘selectable option, so it will be possible to make it a fixed attribute of a Sim. You can then decide who the Sim is attracted to or whether they are aromantic and asexual (without selecting any options).

You can assign various attraction parameters related to sexual orientation and your Sim. Below is the sexual orientation feature in Create A Sim.
My Sim is interested in:
A simple explanation from the Sims your Sim is interested in. A Sim whose gender doesn’t match your Sim’s attraction settings will be rejected if they romantically interact with them.
You can tick any combination of temptation boxes (all or nothing) based on your Sim’s romantic orientation. In the future, we may expand the feature to include additional gender identities that are not currently available.
I anticipate that the objections to dual first sexual options will increase. Mechanically, non-dual Sims are not yet available in The Sims 4. still has a way to go. I’ll talk more about this in the FAQ section.
My Sim romantically discovers:
This setting determines whether your Sim’s sexual orientation will change over the course of the game, and eventually allows us to tell two important stories.
The first is the story of a person who understands who he is and has a clear and unchanging perception of Sims he’s attracted to. It is a state expressed by a Sim who does not explore romantically. Sims with Discovery set to “No” do not change their orientation throughout the game and categorically reject the advances of sexually unattractive Sims.
The second story is about a person who is still looking around. Sims with the scan set to “Yes” have an initial sexual orientation setting due to the previous stage, but this can change over the course of the game. Since your Sim has romantic interactions, they may find that they’ve changed a lot since they started.

This setting determines who your Sim can court. If you’re trying to tell the story of an asexual Sim, you can avoid choosing all options. On the other hand, you can tell the story of an aroma Sim by choosing fiki fiki’s interests and avoiding ticking all the romantic attraction boxes. Learn more in the FAQs.
You can also tell even more specific stories, such as the story of a Sim who is attracted to people of various sexual orientations, but is attracted to physical intimacy with only one of them.

This is an understandable question, as we recently released the pronoun update.
I will try to answer in a very transparent way: this is due to technical limitations. As expected, non-mechanically dual Sims are not yet available in The Sims 4. At the time of creation, you still need to choose a binary gender for your Sim, regardless of the pronoun settings. We hope we’re committed to improving the representation of gender identities with features like gender personalization that lets you redefine settings for body size, dress preferences, pregnancy, and toilet use. We believe that updating pronouns is an important step towards better representation of the non-binary genders, but we also recognize that pronouns do not equate to gender identities.
The Sims 4 is now 8 years old and is based on systems originally designed with binary options. In the following years, we reached important milestones such as gender personalization, pronouns, and now sexual orientation. This is an ongoing journey that includes many other milestones, such as the introduction of appropriate mechanical systems that fully support non-binary Sims.
