Warframe Wolf sucks, jumps in to feast on enemies

Warframe is about to hit its 50th model type available in-game as we take a look at the recently announced Wolf Warframe and what its design offers for an RPG. Warframes, for those who don’t know, are the binding barrier worn by player-controlled Tenno, biomechanical armor that can also be used as a weapon. Sometimes certain Warframes can have sentience or make their own decisions.

Some Warframes are the remains of illustrious warriors of old or bearers of hope; each acts as a living legend with their own mythology and lore. Others come from more unique settings, like Xaku, the first non-binary warframe in the game, is a merged build of several different warframes so that each individual part no longer retains its old identity, but instead merges with d’ other frames to create a consistent. whole. . a completely new being.

The game’s creative director, Rebecca Ford, compares the concept of Warframes to that of the popular animated series Neon Genesis Evangelion. The Warframe Operator and Tenno sharing “such an important relationship” harks back to one of the central themes of the entire Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise: that symbiotic relationship between pilot and suit.

Digital Extremes has been considering adding a werewolf or wolf-like monster to Warframe for years, and players themselves are hoping for a Warframe with more monstrous or monster-like elements and aesthetics.

Now, Digital Extremes has revealed concept art for this Wolf Warframe by artist Joe Madureira, best known in-game as the creative director for Darksiders 2010, highlighting the backstory of War, one of the horsemen of the apocalypse.

Madureira’s style from Darksiders can be easily seen on this jagged monster. Wolf heads are planted on each shoulder and each thigh, up to five wolf heads in all, including his own on the neck. It is a ferocious beast with sharp claws that can be assumed to pierce through enemies with ease, leaving a lingering splatter of blood and a pile of enemy corpses in its wake.

The hind legs appear to be a fast Gauss-type Warframe. The surrounding Wolf Spirits seem to be sent to roar, scare and pounce on enemies as your Warframe operates from a distance. Casting powerful summons or fancy beast allies to command seems to have a lot of potential.

To my surprise, this Warframe will not be Warframe 50 as I originally thought. Ford says “The wolf comes with Duviri”. [Paradox]but Veilbreaker has his own Warframe that we haven’t talked about.” The Warframe in question, Styanax, has since been revealed at TennoCon, but that’s all Ford told me about it before waving his hand in front of his face like to contain these secrets about future Warframes that will be released in the future or are currently in an earlier stage of development.

There is currently no set release date for Wolf Warframe, but it will launch alongside the Duviri Paradox expansion when that long-awaited day finally arrives.
