Wargaming, the developer and publisher of the popular game World of Warships, has made a lot of noise thanks to significant changes in World of Warships: Legends. Powerful Tier VIII ships will become available in the console version on July 25, while 14 new ships will appear in the development branch and among premium ships.
Tier VIII goes to sea
Tier VIII will debut in World of Warships: Legends as the highest tier, second only to legendary ships. With this new level, 14 ships appear in the game, 12 of which are available in the development tree. Representing four different countries – the US, Japan, Germany and the USSR – these 12 ships will cover all types except aircraft carriers – highlights include the US battleship Maine, the German cruiser Roon and the Japanese destroyer Yugumo.
Players will also have a chance to be rewarded with their first Tier VIII ship, and the impressive French battleship Republique will become available at the end of the five-week L’Ambassadeur campaign. To round out the additions, the in-game economy has lowered the cost of joining battles with higher tier ships and increased the credit bonuses given out for rewards by Tier VII ships.
Creating your match
With everything these new ships have to offer, Tier VII is getting an adjustment. matchmaking during this update, the tier 1 closure rule comes into effect, giving Tier VIII ships the opportunity to fight for dominance at sea against certain Tier VII ships and legendary ships.
Not all!
Tier VIII will continue to make an impact, with more ships coming to the seas of Legends throughout the year. These ships will be available through wide distribution channels: in the tech tree, as campaign rewards, in auctions, and eventually in the Research Department and the Premium Shop.
