Valve just released its latest Steam Labs experience, and it’s a revamp of the Discovery queue in the store. The sleek new format floats above the rest of the interface and lets you view recommended Steam games in a way that Valve says is designed to work on a variety of screen sizes and device types.
Originally released in 2014, the new layout of the Discovery Queue will allow you to open it without leaving the page you’re on and provides more information about which games it recommends and why it recommends them. . In general, it is a simpler and lighter presentation, but you get more information on each topic much faster and with more clarity.
Valve says that Discovery Queue has been increasingly found to need attention to ensure it can be used on more devices, especially the recently released Steam Deck, which has triggered a series of Steam UI updates.
Although you can already try the new version of Discovery Queue, Valve says that it is not finished yet. The company still plans to add a way to view the new queue from the Steam home page or any store page, optimizations for “all screen sizes from desktop to mobile to tablet” and full compatibility with the Steam Deck gamepad UI.
