Ubisoft just announced during the inaugural Ubisoft Forward Spotlight that Skull and Bones will be released on November 8, 2022. Developed by Ubisoft Singapore in collaboration with other Ubisoft studios**, Skull and Bones will challenge players to determine their own destiny and go from mere outcast to kingpin of piracy. Inspired by the legendary stories of piracy, the game will allow players to experience the real life of a pirate. In this adventure, you will need to sign contracts, collect resources, navigate important trade routes and attack rich merchant ships, and each decision will affect your journey with different levels of risk and reward. As their reputation grows, players will still be able to fully build and customize their navy and unlock many items.
The action of the game is based on one of the deadliest periods in the history of mankind – the end of the 17th century. Considered the second golden age of piracy, this era was the scene of chaotic and relentless pirate battles, with warring factions, powerful organizations and great empires vying for power in the wild paradise of the Indian Ocean.
Each journey through the Skull and Bones universe will be unique and players will be able to expand their empire by joining forces with two friends or players they meet at sea. As an added challenge, they will be able to turn on the PVP mode and test their swords against wannabe bosses, powerful organizations, local factions, and even rival pirates.
With an ambitious multi-year plan after launch, the game will be regularly updated with new content, activities, stories, and challenges free of charge to all players.
At launch, Skull and Bones will be available in two versions: Standard and Premium (PS5, Xbox X|S and PC on the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store). The Premium Edition will include the Ballad of Bloody Bones Collection, which includes several cosmetic items for captains and ships, as well as additional digital content including two additional quests, a digital artbook and soundtrack, and a Smuggler’s Pass.
