Fans should know that during his many attempts to take down some of the Elden Ring’s deadliest bosses, some of his signature catchphrases often get stuck in his head. Now, the Elden Ring fan animation is poking fun at one of the RPG’s most memorable moments, turning it into a rather silly but hilarious scene involving a giant rune bear.

Warning: Spoilers for the Elden Ring boss fight early in the game follow.

Godrick the Grafted is one of the first major boss fights most Elden Ring players will encounter. He’s also responsible for one of the mid-fight highlights in the giant open-world game. Midway through the fight, Godric strikes one of his many arms with his giant axe, severing it in half. He then grafts the nearest dragon’s head onto the limb, revives it, and lifts it into the air.

As fire erupts from the dragon’s now-living mouth, Godric exclaims, “Ancestors, each and every one… bear witness!” This is the line anchor MAN_ticore took, reinventing Godric as a judge in court. As he shouts these powerful words to the assembled onlookers, his pet dragon strikes with a mallet he holds precariously in his mouth.

Then, as he exclaims “Witness”, Godric points to the podium where the climax is spoken of: a quite literal witness bear, portrayed as one of the monstrous rune bears in the fantasy game. MAN_ticore says: “I’m not the first to come up with this joke, but I wanted to spice it up anyway.”

The bear says a line from another popular meme, a man intrigued by a thief who stole his soap and cheese grater. Coincidentally, MAN_ticore’s humorous animation was spotted by the Reddit user responsible for the popularity of this particular video, who commented on the Elden Ring post “it was fun to watch.” Other commenters on the Reddit post joke that the rune bear should be brought to justice for crimes committed against players.

This is all incredibly stupid, but yet another reminder of the creativity of the Elden Ring community. Other highlights for the fantasy game’s fanbase include a Firebender combat mod based on Avatar: The Last Airbender and some great improvements at the recent SDGQ event.

In other FromSoftware news, the developer’s website recently showed up in Google searches as “Armored Core,” leading to a lot of speculation about the possible future of its robot series.
