Simon Thomley, one of the key figures behind sonic originsannounced on Twitter developers are not happy that the state from which the collection is paid and even ask Sega to do so delay the launch to solve existing problems.

Thomley is the developer of Headcannon Games, the studio that worked on remasters of Sonic 1, 2 and 3 in collaboration with Christian Whitehead. He explained on Twitter that, due to the short time available, the remasters are grappling with some issues, but new ones have surfaced when “put together” by Sega for Sonic Origins.

“It’s frustrating. I’m not going to lie in saying that there were no issues with the material we gave Sega, but what we found in Sonic Origins is not what we accomplished,” Thomley said. Said.

“The integration of games into the collection introduced some bugs that logic would want us to believe was our responsibility. Most of them didn’t. As for Origins, we were a different project that created a separate project and then converted. Something completely different. We knew there was going to be a lot of trouble and it was time to release the development. We tried to do it.”

“Once again, I can take responsibility for my own mistakes and that of my team. Some mistakes, omissions, rushed work, some things we noticed but weren’t allowed to fix towards the end. It’s definitely not perfect and it’s part of the game. the mistake is ours. It’s complicated.”

“I’m extremely proud of the achievements my team has had under such pressure, but not every one of us is very happy with the state of Origins. Before we handed the games over to Sega, we weren’t very enthusiastic about the situation, but a lot of us were out of the box. It was out of our control”.

Given the issues with games in the collection, Headcannon Games asked Sega to: delay the launch giving the team time to solve them. But a request denied by the Japanese company.

“We asked for major fixes before they were submitted, but they weren’t allowed due to application and approval rules. We’ve asked for a delay before and multiple times, but were told it wasn’t possible.”

“We’ve also offered to get back to work on post-launch fixes and updates – we don’t know yet if we can.”

Sonic Origins has been positively received by international critics, but some gamers use Tails AI on social networks, not in the original games, in Sonic 2 and in game audio. The names of the music pieces in the museum section are completely wrong.

Sonic Origins since yesterday PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | Available for S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Regarding the issue yesterday, Yuji Naka confirmed that Michael Jackson contributed to the Sonic 3 soundtrack.
