CD PROJEKT RED today announces that GWENT: Rogue Mage, the first standalone single-player expansion for GWENT: The Witcher Card Game, is now available for PC via GOG and Steam, for macOS devices with Apple M1 and above, and mobile devices. iOS and Android.
Formerly known as Project Golden Necker, GWENT: Outcast Mage It takes place centuries before Geralt and other wizards roamed the continent, when the Sphere Conjunction brought endless hordes of monsters into the world. Mankind needed a chance to resist in order to survive. Follow the ambitious young mage Alzur and his companion Lily as they embark on a perilous journey to create a living weapon that will destroy the monster threat once and for all.
Rogue Mage gameplay combines the best elements of roguelike, deckbuilding and strategy with GWENT’s unique card battle mechanics. Playing as Alzur himself, players must traverse dangerous terrain as they fight to defeat legendary monsters and collect precious mutagens for their experiments. The challenges they face along the way will require the skillful use of powerful spells and combat options, represented by a vast arsenal of hundreds of cards. They can be upgraded to become even stronger, as well as chained together for devastating results. As the adventure progresses, players will have the opportunity to earn legendary treasures, unlock achievements and climb the online leaderboards, and customize the game’s difficulty with dozens of modifiers.
Due to its wide scope and single-player nature, Rogue Mage will be distributed separately from GWENT: The Witcher. Card game. The game does not require an Internet connection and the GWENT multiplayer client – the expansion can be launched offline at any time. Players can also cross-save, allowing them to transfer their progress across all supported platforms when connected via a GOG account.
GWENT: Outcast Mage available for PC (GOG and Steam) as well as mobile devices (iOS and Android). Players have the option to choose between two versions, including a Deluxe version with the official Rogue Mage soundtrack, three alternate skins for Alzur, and digital items that can be used in GWENT: The Witcher.
