Intel’s Meteor Lake processors could arrive shortly after 13th Gen Raptor Lake chips, as the company’s 7nm processing nodes are “ready for mass production.” Chip tech is rumored to arrive later this year, which could help Team Blue take on the AMD Ryzen 7000.
According to the Digitimes report, Intel Meteorite Production of the 7nm Silicon Lake is scheduled for the second half of 2022. While you should take all rumors of an Intel Meteor Lake release date with a pinch of salt, the insider lines up with the roadmap of the company, which claims the 14. -gen range will arrive in 2023.
In May, the company unveiled its next-gen packages at a concept event, showcasing a die design that uses the new Intel 4 process. Leaks also suggest upcoming gaming processors will feature an LGA 1851 socket. – a change related to motherboard warnings.
It might seem like Intel is getting ahead of the game, especially if you’ve just upgraded your gaming PC to an Alder Lake processor. However, the rapid arrival of Meteor Lake should help the company compete with AMD, as Zen 4 is about to arrive. That doesn’t mean Raptor Lake is up to the task though, as a 6GHz clock speed could help raise the performance bar higher than ever.
