Want to explore the Starfield map but don’t want to wait for the 2023 release date to do so? Are you more into sky maps and distance calculations than all that tedious hyperspace talk? Good news then: the fan-designed Starfield System Navigator is for you.
We’re still learning about Starfield’s space travel between its thousands of strange worlds and MechWarrior-style ship battles, but with the game delayed until 2023, we may have some time to wait for proper information on how travel between systems.
Based on the information we have on the systems featured in the space game compared to their real-world counterparts, user i_need_a_fast_horse has posted an older version of his Starfield navigation tool on Reddit. It displays a star map with around 75 systems you can play around with to determine distances between stars, best warp jump vectors, nearest neighbors, connections based on light years, and more. You can even turn on a little 3D trailer that really needs relaxing space music.
The creator of the program says that “the tool is still in active development and a bit unfinished”, but they plan to constantly update it before Starfield is released. “Once the game launches, all systems will be easily restored to the correct position,” he confirms. Go check it out, this might be the closest thing to a game in the world of Starfield for a while.
We can’t wait for Starfield to be released, although it’s missing some space travel elements which are a bit disappointing.
