Rocket League Birthday Ball Turns 7

Surprisingly, it’s been seven years since the car soccer game Rocket League broke into our lives, so developer Psyonix is celebrating the game’s seventh anniversary with a new limited-time event called the Rocket League Birthday Ball. The event will run for two weeks and will include limited-time modes, special challenges, and of course plenty of anniversary-themed cosmetic items to play for free.

The Rocket League Birthday Dance is scheduled for July 6-19., and is divided into two weeks of separate events. Week 1, July 6-13, brings back the player-favorite limited-time Heatseeker mode, which pits two teams of two against each other in a matchup where the ball instinctively goes into the opponent’s goal after you kick it, demanding what a true defensive skill is. .

During the second week, July 13-19, players can take part in a limited-time Knockout mode, an arena battle in which players must attempt to knock each other down on a series of raised platforms using three attacks, blocks and grappling skills. It’s a unique way to play Rocket League and a fantastic opportunity to practice your car battle skills without having to watch where the ball bounces.

In addition to these modes, players will be offered a series of unique “Birthday” challenges, for which you will receive 300 credits. There’s also a Golden Goat player banner and a precious metal avatar border, along with a host of other goodies.

If you want to dress up for the holidays with some fancy wheels, the item shop has two pretty snazzy anniversary decals for a Fennec car model: one in titanium white and the other with a smart, formal look. Players can also earn Golden Eggs by playing during the holidays, which can then be used from their inventory to unlock Champion Series 1-4 items in the sports game.

In early 2022, the AGDQ showcased incredible custom Rocket League levels as the event crossed the million dollar mark in record time.
